Boston, MA
We started our day at the Boston Public Library, whaaaa...the library? That sounds quite boring. You must understand the BPL is as much an art and architecture museum as it is a library.
The library courtyard has a quite controversial sculpture of a bare woman with a baby in her arms in the middle of the fountain. Even the mayor of Boston wouldn't get his picture taken by the risqué statue. Kelli and I were living on the wild side with this pic.
At the Boston gardens we had to fight off hordes of children for our turn with the legendary "ducks on parade."
On our way to dinner we walked down by the warfs. Among the fancy private yachts we found this large open rotunda. This is where I got down on one knee and asked Kelli to spend the rest of her life with me.
Immediately after I "popped the question" a group of ladies passing by came running up to Kelli. "Oh my goodness did he just propose, did you say yes?" No she hadn't said yes, in the excitement of the moment Kelli had forgotten to respond :-) After officially accepting my proposal our new found friends posed us for several photos to commemorate the special moment.
From the wharf we proceeded to Boston's famous north end for a delicious Italian meal. The restaurant held a corner table and had champagne ready for us on arrival.
No visit to Boston would be complete without a trip to Mike's Pastry. While in line we had plenty of time to scope out their wedding cakes!
After a night of celebration, Italian food and pastries we spent the next morning at the Aquarium.
The sting rays were eager to congratulate us.
Last stop was a little shopping, Kelli found a new dress that was covered in...coincidentally...rings! The ladies at the Lilly P. store were as excited to sell Kelli the dress as she was to buy it. |
